Strawberry Fields Forever!

The Plant City Strawberries are ripe and ready to eat!

Although they could be near frozen, as tonight is colder than even predicted.

We have used this recipe for 40 years. Delicious even on a cold winter night!

Strawberry Shortcake

sift 2 cups flour, 3tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt

cut in 1/4 cup packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup crisco shortening

combine 1 beaten egg, 2/3 cup milk

stir dry and wet just until blended

Bake at 425 for 10 minutes

Can't wait to try. My family loves Strawberry Shortcake but I have always used the Bisquick recipe. I love to cook and have started a cooking blog. I will let you know when I have it up and running if you like. I have many family recipes that I will be sharing including one that is over 110 years old for Beet Pickled Eggs.
Hugs,
